Every year, winter brings with it a deadly threat for vulnerable communities worldwide. This year might be the most challenging winters of all.

As temperatures plummet worldwide, countless families will struggle to stay safe, warm and fed this winter. Without warm clothes, nutritious food, heating or fuel for their homes, people are at huge risk of illness and hypothermia, which if worsens, could be fatal.

Millions of people also do not have easy access to quality healthcare, adding further complications should they fall ill this winter. Due to recent conflicts and disasters, millions of people worldwide are displaced from their homes and forced to live in make-shift shelters.

In winter, these places will fail to keep people warm, safe and protected. Refugees in countries like Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria are more vulnerable than ever, and will struggle massively this winter.

The devastating floods in Pakistan have left over 33 million people in desperate need of assistance.

Thousands of villages were pushed under water, precious lives lost, livelihoods ruined and over 2 million houses have been destroyed. Millions of people are currently homeless, and since the floods have been living in temporary camps or on the streets, without shelter to protect them, or food, clean water or the healthcare they eagerly need. Now, as winter begins to set in across the continent, these vulnerable families are at even greater risk.
